Heads up — these builds are not code-signed yet.

Windows SmartScreen, macOS Gatekeeper or your antivirus may warn about an “unrecognized” or “unidentified” app — and Windows may offer to remove it. That is what every unsigned installer looks like; it is not a sign that anything is wrong with this one.

Noots Desktop is published by Cartex Data LLC and is the Noots web app in a native window. Every file on this page is served straight from noots.ai, so you are not being asked to trust a link somewhere else.

To install, choose “More info” → “Run anyway” on Windows, or right-click → Open on macOS. If your antivirus quarantines it, allow or restore it.

The desktop advantage

What the desktop app adds

Everything below is in the build behind those buttons — not a roadmap.

Native notifications

Mentions, assignments, meeting starts and Autopilot updates arrive as real OS notifications — and stay quiet while your status is Do not disturb, or when it is the middle of the night on your clock.

Menu-bar and tray presence

An icon that carries your unread count, with quick jumps to boards, messages and meetings. Closing the window tucks Noots into the tray instead of quitting it, so notifications keep arriving.

A global summon shortcut

Ctrl (or ⌘) + Shift + N brings Noots to the front from any app, and presses it away again. If another app already owns that combination, Noots leaves it alone.

Links that open the app

A noots:// link opens the right board, thread or meeting in the desktop app rather than in a browser tab.

A real offline screen

Lose your connection and you get a Noots screen that reconnects on its own, not the system webview's error page.

Picks up where you left it

Remembers your window size and position, keeps you signed in between launches, and can start with your computer — quietly, in the tray. Your theme, font and text size come from your account, so a fresh install opens looking like the last machine you used.

The browser extension

Works in Chrome, Edge and Brave. Install from a .zip in about a minute — the Chrome Web Store listing is in review.

  • Sign in once — nothing to copy, nothing to paste
  • Record meetings with no bot in the call
  • Today's tasks + reminders
  • Fact-check & chart inside Google Docs

After installing, press Sign in with Noots. It opens the ordinary sign-in you already use — password, Google or Microsoft — and asks you to approve this browser. There is no token to create and nothing to paste.

Prefer a manual install? Load from a .zip

While the Chrome Web Store listing is in review, you can side-load the same extension:

  1. Download the .zip and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions → enable Developer mode.
  3. Load unpacked → select the noots-extension folder.
  4. Open it and press Sign in with Noots.

System requirements

macOS
One universal build for Apple silicon and Intel.
Windows
64-bit, with the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime (already present on Windows 11).
Linux
x86-64, built on Ubuntu 22.04 — the AppImage, .deb and .rpm all expect that generation of system libraries or newer.

Download sizes are listed on each button above. Noots needs a connection to sign in, and a microphone if you record a meeting from the app.

We don’t publish per-release notes for the desktop shell — it carries the same product as the web app, and what changed is in the What’s new panel inside Noots. The list above is what this release actually contains.

Already on the web

Noots runs in any modern browser. The desktop apps are the same web app in a native window, built with Tauri, so nothing looks or behaves differently — they just add what a browser tab can’t do.
